Surrounded Terrace Hanging-Window Pane Wood

This terrace is surrounded by windows. We need some fresh air and sunlight, open all the windows, the porch was fresh and airy. The air went up into the house.

Terraced houses often face problems due to weather changes. Especially in the tropics, which in season rain and dry / hot. One of the problems during the rainy season is tampias rainwater.

The slope of the roof of the house is expected to protect the building from the whipping rain and sunshine. Roof design, but often it can not protect the maximum. Well, the solution adopted in this house. What is it?

To avoid tampias, terrace houses have made in the form of window coverings. The Core is made to hang in two. Position adjacent to the living room. Terrace wear lightweight construction system.

The main frame using hollow steel 5cm x 5cm. Reinforced with steel and steel plate. 6mm steel is arranged in a zigzag around the top and bottom frame. High order terrace approximately 2.5 m. He likened the framework of the terrace as a nest because of the closed end to all.

Each section is divided in two by the framework of his supporters. At every 1.5 m, there are four shutters - two above and two below. When the weather outside the house quite friendly, all windows can be opened. Conversely, if the bad weather, closed all the windows. The interior of the house was protected.

Oh yes, the terrace is used to store the plants in pots. Scenery so soothing. If while relaxing in the living room, it felt cool. In this house do not worry about the weather outside changes. Tampias rainwater no longer enter.

Ethnic Nuance build on the back porch

As with any room in the house, the terrace can be arranged any ethnic nuance. Its presence can make the atmosphere more unified terrace with rear garden.

Patio is often used as a place to relax in the afternoon. Which directly back porch overlooking the gardens pamper homeowners with a green landscaped gardens.

Nuances of ethnic and natural a choice for you who want a relaxation with the natural feel of a traditional and strong. Ethnic impression this could be built, either from the use of materials and furniture in the room, like a back porch at home Priambodo Mita.

Enough material to use stucco cement floor. Nat was modified using ramin wood laid diagonally. At the intersection Munti laid ceramic square.

Wall preparations also can be made memorable by putting ethnic corals on some walls. Coral high as 1 m is also installed on some walls. The dominant coral shapes are not uniform among one another and create an attractive three-dimensional effect.

Ceiling made to follow the slope of the roof. Materials used are planks of wood that suggests ethnic increasingly felt. The furniture that used a similar course chosen with the draft room. Meanwhile, well-bale careless careless, lazy chairs, and tables made of teak wood.

Picking Colors for Your Decor

Don't you find coordinating colors to be the hardest thing to do?  It's really is a headache, actually, trying to get a paint to go with the fabric that coordinates with everything else.

Robert Allen has a very nice tool that we thought you might like.  They have different room themes already mixed & matched for you.

See below for some samples:

PS The paint is from Sherwin Williams. You can also search for fabrics from Robert Allen site from the link above.  It doesn't give pricing information, but you can find that on our  Robert Allen fabrics section by entering the name of the pattern in the search box.

Inspiration 8.5

In case you can't tell, I'm on a bit of a greenery kick (think being in the country on a rainy day), and I'm in love with the window sill in this kitchen, especially how the green pops against the texture of the exposed brick.

Discovered on Bright Bazaar (which you should go on and check out!)

Terrain Weck Succulent Collection

As a card-carrying member of the black-thumb club, succulents have always carried a sort of promise in my mind. They require very little attention, and generally seem pretty hard to kill. The same goes for terrariums.

So, of course, I got super excited when I saw this collection of succulents planted in Weck canning jars -- until I realized that Terrain only delivers them within 30-miles of their Pennsylvania location.

I still couldn't resist posting for those of you who are more ambitious than me -- Weck canning jars are cheap, and Trader Joe's usually sells succulents at a price that makes a little experimenting seem worth it.

One Very Cool Arm Chair

It's usually a good idea to add a couple of arm chairs to your living room configuration.  You can do a really fun fabric to punch in some colors ; add some dimensions of the room by varying the height so it's not so flat, and perhaps most importantly, style it up a bit.

Here's a really cool one that we like:

The chair is made by Jessica Charles, a division of Hancock and Moore.  The price depends on the fabric, but it ranges about $1400-1600 or so.

A Poem for Wednesday

I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Etsy Fave: White Owl

After several seasons of heavy costume jewelry, my neck is really, really tired of being weighed down with 2-pounds of fake pearls and beads. While, a little birdie (cough, mom) told me I will be receiving a sweet (and mericifully lightweight) gold Peretti bean necklace for my birthday this week, I'm also loving these lace necklaces from White Owl. The pieces are as dramatic as costume pieces but, happily, lacking the resulting neck and back pain.

Inspiration 8.2

I'm not usually a fan of modern architecture, but the skylight here is just gorgeous. I would love to see a smaller scale version of this room off of a more traditional country house.
